ShutterMatch ("we," "us") is a directory where photographers list their work and people looking to hire a photographer can browse, compare, and get in touch directly. This page explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
If you apply to be listed as a photographer: your name, email, portfolio or Instagram link, specialty, and the plan you selected. Once approved and you claim your account, also your listing details (bio, location, pricing, availability, social links, portfolio photos) and a password, which is stored and managed by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store your password ourselves.
If you contact a photographer: the email address and message you submit. This is sent directly to that photographer so they can reply to you.
If you leave a review: the name, star rating, and comment you submit. Reviews require the photographer's approval before they appear publicly — once approved, your name, rating, and comment are visible to anyone who views that photographer's profile.
How we use it
We use this information to operate the directory: to display photographer profiles, deliver inquiries and reviews to the right photographer, and send account-related emails (like sign-in confirmation, password resets, and notifications about new inquiries or reviews). We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising or third-party marketing.
Who we share it with
We use Supabase to host our database, file storage, and authentication, and Resend to send transactional emails (like new-inquiry notifications). These providers process data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes. We don't share your information with anyone else, except when a photographer needs your contact details to respond to an inquiry you sent them directly.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep photographers signed in to their dashboard. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Payments and bookings
ShutterMatch doesn't process payments or handle bookings. Inquiries connect you directly with a photographer, and anything you arrange with them — pricing, scheduling, payment — happens outside this site.
Your choices
You can update or remove your photographer listing anytime from your dashboard. To request that we delete your information entirely, or to ask what we have on file, email us at lpschulz01@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
